Getting elected to a club committee opens up a whole new world. It’s fun, but it can be overwhelming. Let’s be real, everyone’s been mixed-up about minutes and confused about committees at least once. Who hasn’t wondered what a treasurer actually does or been stumped about how to register your club? (Don’t worry, we’ve all been there).

If you’re new to running a club, have some questions, or even if you just want a refresher on good governance, then Clubs 101 is for you. It’s designed to make sure that you know everything you need to know to keep your club running smoothly and to stay on top of your obligations.

Clubs 101 is an info session for club executives that covers all of the essentials.
  • Committees: how do they work?
  • Meetings: motions, minutes, AGMs, quorum – what does it all mean?
  • Finances: accountability and looking after $$$
  • Events: making them happen, having a great time
  • Websites and social media: how does the Union website work? How can I use social media?
  • The Union: what we can do for you, and what do we need from your club
It’s also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you’ve been wondering about!

We'll be running Clubs 101 several times throughout the semester, to make sure everyone has the opportunity to get involved.

Upcoming: Monday 28/08, 11am and 2pm. (REGISTRATIONS ESSENTIAL)
